More of the same....

We had a pretty low-key weekend. Saturday we went over to a friends house for a swim and BBQ. Aidan had a blast swimming in both the pool and the hot-tub. He is turning into such a little fish - I just hope we can keep up his enthusiasm for swimming!

Sunday was a big trip to Costco (you know you're weekend is pretty lame when one of the highlights is a trip to Costco!!) followed by a picnic in the park. When we got home Aidan and I went and bought some mulch for our gardens, and then proceeded to spread it in the beds. It looks sooooo... much better with the mulch in.

I'm pretty tired today as I slept badly last night. Between Quinn waking up every couple of hours (I'm not sure if he was having bad dreams or if something else was bothering him), and me getting up at 2:00a.m. to close all the windows and turn the AC on, my sleep was pretty crummy. You know it's pathetic when you're lying in bed at 2:00 a.m. thinking to yourself: "Do I get up and close the windows, or do I just lie here sweating and pray that I can sleep?" Ugh.

What's truly annoying is that Quinn woke up this morning full of energy and was busy playing hockey with Aidan. Then there's me - stumbling around in desperate need of coffee, trying to get them out the door for daycare. Double ugh.

Part 2: the Father's Day update

Our Father's Day was a busy one! Aidan came barrelling into our room singing: "Happy Father's Day Daddy!". Too bad we were both still asleep when this happened - but it was still very cute. Aidan was so excited to give Chris his gifts I had to drag my sleepy a$$ out of bed and go get everything organized - at 7:00 a.m. oye!

We had to get ourselves organized pretty fast though, as we were signed up for the Huron Boys Home run and bike (our annual Father's Day tradition). So, we were out the door by 8:15 so that Chris could run 10km (Happy Father's Day!) with Quinn in the jogger, and Aidan and I could bike 7km with Aidan on the tandem. Here are some pictures from the day:

Aidan was pretty nervous about the tandem, as he hadn't been on it since the big wipe out. Thankfully everything went great and he did awesome:

Here are Chris and Quinn finishing the 10km. Notice that Quinn's holding a plastic cup of water - Chris had to stop and get him water because at about 8km the little monkey starting yelling: "Water pleez Daddy!!":

Here are the two cuties enjoying a snack after the race. Notice the shirts - how cute are they?!?!

And last but note least - I had to include a picture of myself. Here's a picture of Aidan collapsed on me afterwards. I guess the 7km wore him out - too bad I was the one doing most of the pedalling!!

After the race we went home and rested for a bit (meaning the boys had naps and Chris and I tore around like maniacs trying to clean, do laundry, etc.). Then we were off to Karen's house for a Father's Day BBQ. A good time had by all!

Harbor bound

This is going to be a two-parter, as I haven't downloaded my Father's Day pictures yet. But, HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to Chris, my Dad, Mac and all the other Dad's out there!

OK, here's part one:
We went to Harbor Springs, MI for a few days to visit Chris' sister and her family. We had a great time, and the boys just loved playing with little Robert. Here are some pictures cronicling the vacation:

And the roof is raised...

This weekend we had our roof done. Thankfully it was only about 23 on Saturday so the guys weren't sweating too badly, but unfortunately on Sunday it was about 26 and fairly humid so the poor guys were just dying up there. But, the roof is done (just some minor stuff to finish up tonight) and looks great. Hopefully we won't even have to think about roofing issues for another twenty years!

On the ever-growing belly front: the belly is ever expanding and there is certainly no question that I'm preggers. The verdict from the ultrasound was that it's a.... GIRL! It was definitely a shock to both Chris and I, as we were totally expecting another boy - just because that's all we have so far! Once we got over the initial shock, we started the ever important name hunt. Suggestions are welcome!
