See ya snow!

Currently it is about 10 degrees outside and raining - hopefully this means that the last bit of snow will soon disappear! I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Saturday was Aidan's last hockey game and he did so well! He's improved so much over the course of the season: he can skate like a pro, shoot, and almost (but not quite!) handle the puck! Of course, if you talk to him the highlight of the game on Saturday was that he got a medal and a hot dog! That puts things in perspective!

Quinn started swimming on Saturday and after a bit of coaxing by Chris he swam the width of the pool three times with his water wings on! He starts Karate this week and can't wait for the ke-yah to begin!

On Sunday we went to the maple syrup farm, a trip which is turning out to be an annual tradition as this is now our third year going. As always the kids loved the pancakes, sausages and beans, plus they loved the horse-pulled wagon ride out to the sugar bush. It was definitely the coldest it's ever been but we still had a good time.

We're keeping our fingers crossed that spring might actually be on the way, as I think everyone is going a bit stir-crazy after this prolonged winter. The flowers have to start budding soon....right?!?!

When he's this good, you have to brag!!

Here is a link to a story the Toronto Star did on a robotic prostate cancer operation my brother Kenneth did - pretty impressive!!

Hippity Hoppity

Happy belated Easter! Our Easter weekend was filled with fun, eggs, and of course, lots of chocolate! Tusha, Dave and the boys came over for the weekend and we had a blast with them. We hit Canatara's Easter in the Park on Saturday morning and the kids had a great time collecting Easter eggs, playing put-putt and climbing in the bouncy castles. Saturday afternoon we had a full-fledged turkey dinner (only the second time I have cooked one by myself - and I have to say, it was delish!!) and on Sunday we had Aidan's hockey and then just relaxed for the rest of the day. We are slowly trying to get rid of the copious amounts of chocolate in our house, as it's just too much of a temptation for all of us!

Here are some pictures:

Mmmmmm... turkey dinner!

Shannon smiling - what a surprise!!

We continue to slog through winter - despite the fact that the calendar says it's Spring. I think this prolonged winter is driving everyone batty so here's hoping that warmer weather shows up - and SOON!

Is Spring Break really a break?

Well our Spring Break was jam-packed. First we took off to Hilton Head to visit Mac and Brigitte. We had great weather this year - it was warm enough for me to wear capris and flip-flops which is all I cared about! The kids had a blast visiting with Omi & Gramps, and had tons of fun playing on the beach and heading to the park and play-centers. Here are some pics:

We bought a car for work in Hilton Head, so Chris ended up driving to Cincinnati with the boys (only 12 hours!!), and I flew to Detroit with Shannon, picked up the van and headed down to Cinci myself. The kids and I stayed in Cinci for a couple of days and then headed back home. We were gone for two weeks!!

Happy 3rd Birthday Quinn!!!

I know I've been AWOL lately, but we were on holiday for two weeks. First we were in Hilton Head visiting Brigitte and Mac, and then we went to Cincinnati to see my folks. I'll fill you in later about the vacation, but first I have to say:

HAPPY 3rd BIRTHDAY Quinn!!!

It's so hard to believe that our little Quinnster is 3! At 9:35a.m., three years ago our little (figuratively and literally!) man came into this world. He certainly is Mr. Personality, and everyday he makes me smile and laugh, and want to tear my hair out at the same time!

Here are some pictures from his PJ themed party (he insisted we have a PJ party for his birthday:
