Yesterday was a beautiful day: sunny, 25 degrees, the whole package! The boys wanted to play outside, but I was feeding Marin so I said: "You can play outside, but you need to put hats on first."
After I finished feeding Marin I went to check on them and noticed that Quinn was indeed wearing a hat....
His grey Toronto Maple Leafs touque!!!!!
When I asked him why he was wearing that hat he said: "You told me to put on a hat mummy." Ahhh.... he makes me laugh!

Quinn, What's in Your Mouth?????
That's what I heard myself saying this afternoon - never a good thing! Turns out the little stinker decided he wanted to take a bite out of his Chapstick (it's non-toxic right? Tell me it's non-toxic!!!).
I had to fish the bloody chunk out because he was so upset about everything he refused to spit it out in my hand. Sigh.... only when you're 4 does Chapstick look appetizing. Oh yeah - more irony: the kid won't eat his lunch, but Chapstick??!?! Mmm.... Yummy!!!
On a happier note, the kids were playing in the basement, and suddenly I hear Shannon giggling like crazy. Turns out she decided to hop on the Plasma Car while Quinn was driving - it was too cute!!

Note Quinn trying to get Shannon off at the very end. There's only so much one can take of the little sister after all!!!

Adventures in Gymnastics
The boys have been taking gymnastics for about two months now, and they absolutely love it. Today was 'show-off for your parent' day, so I got to go into the gym and snap some pictures of my monkeys!

Sometimes they just amaze me
My boys often drive me absolutely nuts. At the same time, they often do things that make me blush with pride. For example:
On Wednesday mornings they take a gymnastics class. They're in the same class together and often are side-by-side throughout the class. Well, there is another boy in the class who is quite the piece of work (let's just leave it at that). Today the boy got right in Quinn's face and was saying something not nice to him. Aidan was standing behind Quinn with his hands on Quinn's shoulders quite protectively. Finally he had enough of this boy and stepped between Quinn and the boy and then turned his back on the boy so that the kid couldn't say anything else to Quinn or get in his face any more. I was so unbelievably proud of him, and how he handled himself and protected his little brother!
This afternoon Quinn has a friend over for a playdate. They came barreling upstairs from the basement and Quinn said: "Mummy, can we play upstairs in my room?" To which I responded: "Sure thing buddy." There was a bit of a pause, and then Quinn said: "Are you sure Mummy? Is Marin sleeping upstairs?" OMG - I can't believe that my little 4 year old is so considerate that he actually thought about where his sister was and if she was sleeping. Soooooo SWEET!!!!
It's times like these that I think: "You know, we must be doing something right!"
I also have a new saying at the moment when it comes to my kids: "I'm not perfect, so how can I expect my kids to be?!"
