Bug be gone!!

Our weekend was spent battling bugs. Specifically, the common white grub, known as: Phyllophaga crinita in scientific circles, also known as a major pain in my a$$. Yes, our lawn has wonderful brown patches and has been ripped apart by our friendly neighbourhood squirrels and birds.

Soooo.... we spent Friday and Saturday ripping up dead sod, tilling the ground, unloading 1.5 cubic yards of topsoil and then re-seeding the lawn. We're keeping our fingers crossed that the new seed takes, and in July we'll have to have the 'professionals' in to bring out the big guns to kill the little buggers.

On a more positive note, we had FANTASTIC weather over the weekend, and after we had our natural gas hook-up we had our first BBQ of the year on the new BBQ. There is nothing better than burgers on the BBQ!!
