This is what's going through my head right now. I went to the mailbox and picked up the mail, and I see a letter from...... of all people.... Honda!! No seriously, there was an envelope addressed to me, from Honda Canada.
I'm assuming that it's a letter asking how our service has been, or something along those lines. Nope.
Let me preface everything by rewinding two years to when we first got our van. After about a month or so of use, I noticed that the paint was chipping on the hood and doors. Just little chips, but chips nonetheless (and when it's a brand spankin' new car, you tend to notice these things). When we took the car in for service we mentioned this to my new BFFs (the Honda service guys) and they said their wasn't really anything they could do.
So here we are, two years later, with a mystery letter from Honda (subtlety is not one of my strong suits - can you see where I'm going?). In said letter, Honda notified me that there is a Warranty Extension on my vehicle, because of...
wait for it.....
Paint Peeling on Dark Blue 2005 Odysseys!
I am not joking! In the letter, Honda says that the paint could peel off, and because of this the exterior paint on our vehicle is now covered for 7 years from its original date of purchase. Honda tells me I need to take the car into the dealer so they can inspect the problem, and if necessary repaint the damaged areas of the vehicle.
That sound you hear? It's my jaw hitting the floor.
I mean SERIOUSLY! How many more things can go wrong with this freakin' van? We've owned two other vehicles and neither of them have EVER had a recall notice. Now I've got the Odyssey and it's had two recalls, plus a defective motor in the sliding door. SERIOUSLY!
I'm not going to say lemon but JEEESH!
