We've been in our house for just over three years now, and the light in the foyer has always driven me crazy. It might have been in style in say.... 1983, but today it is hideously out of date.
I rest my case:
I found another light at Costco (thank heaven for Costco!) for next to nothing. I bought it about a month ago, and we finally had time to install it yesterday. The installation was a bit precarious (picture Chris standing at the very top of a 10 ft step ladder reaching up to the ceiling which is 16 ft high, while the boys held the ladder steady, and I held the light up. Good times!), but we managed to get that sucker up.
I think it's a VAST improvement, but I think I need to switch the bulbs from bright white to soft white:
