Yesterday was a big day in the Pace-James house. Yep, it was my 'official' first day back at work. This meant dropping the girls off at daycare, the boys off at school, and then heading into the office.
To make the day even more memorable, Mother Nature decided to mark the momentous occasion with a massive snowstorm.
Chris dropped both girls off at daycare and quickly ran out the door so he didn't have to listen to Marin scream for too long. Yesterday was Marin's first full day at daycare, which meant that it was just as painful for her as it was for us. But our little Marin is a trooper, and by the time I picked her up at the end of the day she was busy crawling around, playing with toys and babbling away with her teacher. Phew!
Work was.... well really, how much can I say about work? It is what it is. I left early so I could dash home and shovel the driveway before I had to pick up the kids from school. (you know it's a sad state of affairs when your goal is to get home in time to shovel the driveway!!) Of course, because it was such a momentous day it wasn't the light, fluffy powder-y type of snow. Nope - it was the wet, heavy stuff! Perfect for building snow-forts or snowmen, but BRUTAL to shovel. It took me 45 bloody minutes to shovel the driveway (and our driveway is not very long!).
Needless to say, after all that excitement I was totally wiped out. By 7:00 my back was absolutely killing me from the combination of sitting so long at work, and then shoveling all the snow. By 9:30 this girl was done like dinner, and I crashed and called it a night.
Today I have since recovered thankfully.
To end things on a lighter note, here is a video of Marin, Shannon & Quinn that I took at lunch today. They are a talkative little bunch!!
