Happy Mother's Day!

Mother's Day started early for me. The kids all made me some fantastic crafts that I hung on my newly created: "door of honour" (it sounds impressive doesn't it - there should be trumpets playing or something!!)

Shannon made a flower picture where the leaves are her feet, the stem is her arm, and the purple flower is her hand. Quinn made a flower pot, and the flower 'grows' out of it, and it has a poem in French on it. Ms. Marin (with the help of her teachers at daycare) made a poem, plus stamped copies of her hands and feet.

Aidan made this amazing 'ode to Mom' - and it was written ENTIRELY in French. It wasn't a standard thing he copied from the board, he made the whole thing up, wrote it, and then decorated it with a flower border. His teacher then laminated it for us. I couldn't believe it!
This morning Chris brought me coffee and yogurt in bed and I had an entire hour to myself to lounge in bed. My present this year was a rubber bracelet with "2010 Aidan Quinn Shannon Marin" on it, written in a Celtic font. I absolutely LOVE it and haven't taken it off.

Then we headed off for our Mother's Day brunch (brunch is a must for me!), and spent the rest of the day working in the yard and playing games.

After dinner I went for a run (somehow I managed to knock out 5km - must have been that extra slice of pie I had at brunch!) and when I came home Chris had a bubble bath waiting for me. It doesn't get much better than that!

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's, Grandmother's, and all the Mom's to be.

Brunch is my favourite too! We went out on Saturday together--gotta love not cooking!

Love the group shot--what a beautiful bunch!
