Mornings....

I hate mornings.  Despise them.  LOATHE them.  If you haven't figured it out by now, I'm not a morning person.

I like my mornings quiet, and filled with coffee.  With four kids that never happens.

This is a typical look at our mornings during the week:

5:30 - 6:00:  Chris gets up, unloads the dishwasher, folds laundry, starts making lunches.
6:30 - 7:00:  Marin wakes up, usually comes for a snuggle with me in bed, and then we head downstairs with Shannon in tow.
7:30 - 8:00:  The boys stumble downstairs and insanity begins.

Me:  "what would you like for breakfast?"
Aidan or Quinn: "I dunno"
Me:  "OK - but you need to have breakfast, do you want cereal, toast, yogurt...."
Aidan or Quinn: "I dunno  yet."

After we finally figure out breakfast it becomes the dreaded: "Mommy Nag time"

Me: "OK guys, finish up, go upstairs, get dressed, brush your teeth and make your bed."

5 minutes later: "OK guys, you need to move it now, go upstairs and get dressed"

5 minutes later: "guys, stop messing around and get dressed"

2 minutes later: "Quinn, get off your brother."

1 minute later: "Aidan, leave your brother alone."

5 minutes later: "Guys, GET DRESSED NOW!!!!!"

1 minute later: "Shannon, let's do your hair."

30 seconds later:  "No, we don't have time to do braids - do you want one pony or two?"

5 minutes later:  "Guys, why aren't you dressed?!?!"

30 seconds later: "Marin, let's go change your bum."

3 minutes later: "No Aidan / Quinn, you can't wear that to school go change."

30 seconds later: "BECAUSE I SAID SO!!"

2 minutes later: "Guys, go brush your teeth."

2 minutes later: "NOW!!"

5 minutes later: "Guys, we need to get going, go downstairs and put your shoes on"

2 minutes later:  "NOW!!!"

3 minutes later: "You know you can't wear Crocs to school, go get socks and put your running shoes on."

2 minutes later: "I don't care if you don't want to wear a coat, put it on - it's only 10 degrees outside!"

3 minutes later: "Get buckled guys"

1 minute later: "GUYS! Get BUCKLED!!!"

By the time we finally pull out of the driveway, I'm ready to hop on the quickest flight to Mexico!

Oye.

Oh, I can totally identify on this. This is such a real life post and I love it. These days I'm getting way too used to Pierre handling the morning chaos and catching a few more zzz's with the babe...works well for this night owl. Going back to reality will be a rude awakening, literally!
