The Pied Piper.....

I know, I know, I haven't yet updated the blog with Christmas goings on.  I'll get to that - eventually!!

In the meantime, I have to wax on for a moment on parenting.

Some days as a parent (as in life) are better than others.  Sometimes you even have those magical days where everything seems to be going perfectly: siblings are playing together nicely, and all the planets have aligned themselves in such a way that life is just awesome.

Then (usually the very next day), reality sets in.  Kids are screaming and arguing with each other and me, I'm yelling, drinks are spilled, kids are being sent to their rooms, messes are made, and I'm ready for cocktails by noon.  Sigh...

But today has been the exception, and the kids and I have been hanging out and playing with all the new Christmas goodies. Unfortunately because we were away, I had to take all four rascals with me to the grocery store.  Not something I like to do, but it had to be done.

Anyhow, the Gods must have been happy today because it was actually (gasp!) fun shopping with them.  They formed a human chain and were holding hands throughout the store.  I felt a bit like the Pied Piper with a trail of kids following in my wake.

I managed to snap a picture with my camera phone (hence the crummy quality):

Now keep your fingers crossed that my good karma holds out for the rest of the day!
