More Grace in Small Things

I'm well overdue to add to my list.....

1)  A child's laugh.  There is nothing sweeter to the ears than hearing a child laugh.  Especially that full-on belly laugh that just gurgles up from the belly and erupts into a full-on giggle explosion.

2)  The fact that I no longer have snow on my front yard.  I still have some die-hard patches clinging to life in the backyard, but the front is completely SNOW FREE!!!

3)  School is back!! As much as I enjoy (most of the time) spending quality time with the kids, there's something to be said for the regularity and routine of school.

4) No more 'Sou sou'!  Our general rule for the girls has been: once you turn two... no more sou sou!! (sou sou = pacifier in our house).  So on Marin's 2nd birthday our present to her was the removal of the sou sou.  How evil are we?!?! But, she's survived, and is actually sleeping better without it!!  That being said, she still misses her sou sou.

5)  Flying kites.  How often do you actually take the time to fly a kite? I know with us it's a rare occurrence indeed.  Last Thursday was a beautiful, warm night with lots of wind, so my friend Angie called and invited us to go fly a kite.  We packed everyone up and walked to the park by their house and flew kites for about an hour. I can't tell you how much the boys in particular LOVED flying the kites.  Of course, Aidan was quick to remind me that Nanna was the master of kite flying!

6)  That same night, after the boys got tired flying kites, Aidan and his friend Aidan picked up a football and started playing catch.  It's so neat to see them at the stage when they can play catch without an adult helping them.  It sounds simple and basic I know, but just watching them toss the ball back and forth made me grin from ear to ear.

That's it for now.....
