Here is our six year old: (please excuse the face - he's going through a phase where it is like pulling teeth to get him to give you a normal smile for pictures!)
I was going to reminisce about Quinn's birth story, but decided to change tracks.
Today was pretty much "All About Quinn" day. We went to the Detroit science center and spent the day looking at animatronic dinosaurs, pushing buttons, pulling levers and doing all sorts of other cool science-related things. Then we piled in the car and headed off to the big surprise for Quinn: a trip to Chuck E Cheese's. Yep, that boy loves his arcade games! It was all topped off by Chuck E Cheese himself delivering the birthday cake to Quinn as we serenaded him with a god-awful rendition of Happy Birthday.
But that wasn't the highlight of the day. Nope. When we got home it was still beautiful outside (the snow may actually be melting finally!) so we went outside and pulled out the bikes for the kids. And Quinn, our most stubborn of children, finally decided that it was time for two wheels. A couple of false starts, near misses and heart attacks later our little fighter was riding on two wheels. His stubborn streak paid off as he was determined to master turning around in the cul de sac without stopping, AND he wanted to be able to do it in both directions. And do you know what? That little boy did it - and did it with a huge grin on his face!
