The Difference Between Men and Women

Despite my extreme hatred of the van, it is my primary vehicle. Which means, for .02% of the time I actually get to drive Chris' Altima.

Now I'm not going to extol the virtues of the Altima in this post.  Rather, I'm going to use it to illustrate the difference between men and women.

About six months ago, I noticed that my key-fob for the Altima was dead.  It didn't really bother me - I just manually locked and unlocked the doors when I drove it.  I did however mention to Chris that the battery in the fob was dead and needed replacing.  I mentioned this to Chris virtually every time I drove the Altima over the next six months.

About two weeks ago, Chris and I were going out to grab a quick lunch while we were at work.  We decided to take the Altima, and I gave Chris my keys.  Let me set the stage for you:

It was a cold, gray, drizzly morning.  We were tired, hungry and cold as we approached the Altima.  Chris pressed the unlock button on the fob.  Nothing happened.  He pressed it again, and again, and again, each time getting more frustrated.  Finally I helpfully piped up: "Remember?  I told you that the battery is dead? You need to manually unlock the door."  (yep - it was a total "I told you so" moment)

After we were safely inside the car Chris blurts out: "I can't believe this battery is dead! We're going to replace it right now!"

Do you know what we did?  We immediately drove to the store, got a new battery, and voila!  The fob now works beautifully!

So what's the moral of this story?  I'll let you decide....
  1. I'm too damn lazy to bother to replace the fob, choosing instead to let Chris do it.... whenever he     eventually gets around to it.
  2. Chris is much more action oriented and deals with things immediately
  3. Chris has selective hearing and did not hear me say (repeatedly) that the fob wasn't working and needed a new battery.  He only realized it when he was forced to use the fob himself.
  4. a little of '1', '2', and '3'
