Happy Father's Day!!
We had a fantastic weekend filled with lots of sun, sand, parties, and running.
Yesterday was a crazy day filled with soccer, hockey, two birthday parties and then poker for me. Phew! But it was a glorious day and we spent most of the afternoon at my friend Angie's house, celebrating Aidan and Clark's birthdays.
The two Aidan's about to embark on a three hour tour.....
Working on her tan...
Quinn discovered that it is EXTREMELY difficult to push a wheelbarrow full of sand and rocks up a sandy hill!
Father's day itself started off bright and early. We continued our tradition of doing the Huron Boys Home Run, which meant that we were out the door by 7:30 (so much for letting Chris sleep in and relax!) Quinn, the girls and I did a 7km bike ride, and Aidan and Chris did the 5km run. You couldn't have asked for better weather, clear sunny skies, but still a bit cool which made the running and biking a blast.
Aidan and Chris ran the 5km, which they finished in a blistering 28mins 58 seconds. Aidan came second in the boys under 13 category - finishing behind a 12 year old!!
Quinn and his buddy Clark:
Then we capped off the day with a trip to Karen's for some pool, soccer, BBQ and fun.
Love this shot of Aidan because it shows how high he gets off the diving board!
Miss thing was busy jumping of the steps into the pool - managed to catch her in mid-jump!!
(by the way, Mom - notice Marin standing behind her in just her undies? Remind you of anyone?!?!)
And then a very intense game of soccer ensued:
After the pool, Shannon was cold. Soooo.... all she wanted to do was snuggle with Gramps. (This could be one of my favourite pictures of all time!!)
It was definitely a fantastic weekend - and here's hoping we have many more like it this summer!!!
