This weekend we drove up to Toronto to visit with my family. We hadn't been up since the spring, which was waaayyyy..... too long for the cousins to be apart. Needless to say, when the kids all got together they had a BLAST!!!
I love the fact that my kids love and adore their cousins. When I was growing up (man, I sound like I'm 70 when I talk like that!) I wasn't very close with my cousins simply because we were geographically so far apart. Back in my day (now I'm really dating myself!!) there was no Skype, or Messenger, or Facebook to instantly connect you with relatives overseas. All we had were phone calls (which cost a fortune) or trips (which cost even more!). So unfortunately I didn't have the opportunity to grow-up with my cousins.
That being said, everytime my kids get together with their cousins I always think how fortunate they (and I) are to have this opportunity. And let me tell you, they make the most if their time spent together!!
7 of the 8 Pace nieces and nephews: (Marin was busy eating at the breakfast bar)
Shannon and Sharra were virtually inseperable!
Today I was able to take Adam and Emma with us on a quick trip to an indoor 'amusement' park in London. We started off with some glow-in-the dark putt putt:
The kids loved posing on all the animals (it wasn't until we were leaving that I noticed the sign saying: "Do not climb on the animals!" - oops!)
Then an intense game of arcade shoot 'em up / blow 'em up ensued:
Followed by some fusball:
And we finished it off with a trip to the Dairy Queen for some blizzard-y goodness:
Shannon loved hanging out with her big cousins - especially Miss Emma!
