Getting into a summer grove

Now that the kids are out of school, summer 'holidays' have officially kicked into high gear.  This means that now I have four monkeys tailing me everywhere I go.

I felt somewhat of a sad camaraderie with other parents yesterday as I hit the grocery store with kids in tow.  Now I will say this, my kids are really quite good when we go grocery shopping (except for the constant stream of: "Can we get this Mummy? How 'bout this Mom?  I NEEEEEEEDDDDD this Mummy!!!), so generally it's not a big deal.  HOWEVER, it does tend to slow things down significantly when you have four kids to drag around.

That being said, yesterday while we were trolling the aisles of the grocery store, I kept passing haggard, grumpy parents with their kids in tow.  As we passed, we'd make eye contact and grin ruefully as if to say: "remember when they were in school and we could do this by ourselves?!?!"

Yep, summer vacay is definitely here!

To reinforce the fact that it is summer, we have had over a week of 30 degree + temperatures. For my American pals, this translates to 90 degree + weather..... or you can just say: it's STINKIN' hot!!! 

Thankfully we have access to a pool and beach, which we have been using constantly.  It looks like the heat won't break until the weekend, so until then we swim, stay inside the cool A/C, and have lots of ice cream and slushies.

Yep, it's definitely summer!!
