It's a Magic Kindgom indeed

And so we finished our tour of Disney parks at the grand-daddy of them all: Magic Kingdom.

We left bright and early, and got to the park at 8:45 - right in time for opening.
The monorail was a wee bit crowded
The first thing I wanted to do was take the girls to meet the Princesses. The only thing that got Shannon through the hospital ordeal was the promise to meet Cinderella, and have her sign the pillow case she got from the hospital.  It wasn't a very long line, but when we were about 5 minutes away from meeting them, Shannon turned to me and said: "I don't want to meet the Princesses, I want to go on the rides!"

ARRRGGHHH!!!

I made her stay (horrible mother that I am), and first up was Rapunzel.  She was awesome.  She took one look at us and said: "Group Hug!!"  The girls were instantly in love.

Next up was Aurora (aka. Sleeping Beauty).  She saw the bandage on Shannon's thumb and said: "Did you prick your finger on a spinning wheel too?"  Priceless!

And finally, it was time for Cinderella.  She was so great with the girls, and listened to our story about the adventure in the hospital.  She happily agreed to sign the pillowcase, and the girls just melted.

Now it was time for the rides!
Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin was first up

Of course we had to do Dumbo too...

It was hot, so we needed some Mickey Ears ice cream...

Before we screamed our heads of on Big Thunder Mountain

Then we waited for the parade...
It was really hot!
Nuts! Captured by Zurg!

Then we stayed for the Electrical Parade and fireworks.  It made for an INCREDIBLY long day (we left the park at 10:30), but it was definitely well worth it.  Something the kids will never forget!

And last but not least, we and 10,000 of our closest friends headed down Main St. to the Monorail.

Phew - what a day!!
