A couple of weekends ago Aidan played in a soccer tournament.
Remember this picture?
Yeah. those were my shoes after the boys semi-final game.
Here is why they were in such a state:
Not the incredible amount of water coming up from the field as the boys battle for the ball. Yeah. THAT was only half of it. The other half of the field was a mud pit.
The game was tied at the end of regulation, so we went into over time. Still tied. Then it went to a shoot out.
The ref and I went out on the field to try to figure out which penalty spot was the best to kick from. the ref paced it out, and placed the ball down..... in two inches of water. Then he looked at me.
"You want me to kick it?" I asked incredulously
He just nodded.
So I kicked it, and got completely soaked and covered in mud.
We went to the other penalty spot. Exactly the same.
The poor boys had to kick the ball out of standing water. One poor little dude on the other team only kicked the ball 3 feet because it just stopped dead in the water.
In the end our boys pulled it out and won in penalty shots. Definitely a game they'll always remember!

Ewww. Where was this?
Mia played in Strathroy two weekends ago and her uniform smelled like swamp water. We went away after the game and the uniform sat in a bag overnight...gag.
Congrats on the win!
