She's Almost, Not Quite, Kinda-Sorta, Officially Ours...

I'm talking about Snuggles the cat of course!

As you may recall, last October this adorable little cat showed up at our house.  We began by feeding her some milk, until a friend of mine informed me that milk is actually really bad for cats.  Ooops!  We then switched to cat food.

Fast forward to May when this cat (now named Snuggles because she's a snuggler) was still hanging around our house, and we (read me) had succumbed to letting her in the house as long as we were home).  I broke down and took her to the vet to see if she had a micro chip in her which would tell us who her owners were.

The kids were devastated.

"If she doesn't have a chip, can she be our cat?"  Aidan begged.

So with four kids in tow, we went to the vet.

No chip.

The kids whooped in delight.  Chris shook his head.

I agreed that we should give the cat all her required shots since she'd been spending so much time around us.

I may as well have said to the kids: "OK, she's our cat now."

So Snuggles "Vicious Beast" James was officially introduced as the newest member of our family.  Why "Vicious Beast" you ask?  Well, despite her sweet demeanour and great snuggling ability, we discovered that Snuggles has a particular affinity and taste for...... chipmunks. And mice.  And birds.  Oh yes, our little, sweet cat has killed countless small animals for the kids to see.  At first they were horrified.  Now they cheer her on.

Nothings more entertaining than to hear Shannon and Marin screaming: "Go Snuggles Go!!  Kill that chippy!!!"

Ah lessons on the circle of life.....

In the meantime, here are some pictures of our little killer:
For some bizarre reason, she loves sleeping in Quinn's hockey bag
