....with a live update on bees in our house.
On Wednesday night I was working in the kitchen when I heard a tapping / scratching noise coming from the dining room. I went in to investigate and discovered a steady stream of bees flying in the soffit of our bay window, and the scratching was the sound of bees burrowing in the ceiling of our window. Lovely.
On Thursday we bought some bee & wasp spray and sprayed it into the soffit from outside the house. Then we went inside where we thought we would drill a hole into the ceiling and then spray some more through the hole. When we got inside we realized that there were two nickle sized spots on the ceiling that were soft and mushy. So soft that the straw nozzle of the bug spray pushed right through the ceiling. Ewwwwwww...... Chris sprayed it three times and once again on Friday morning.
Today we decided it was safe to cut open the ceiling to find out what was in there. Here is the pictorial evidence:
We put tape over the holes as an interim measure:

Now we don't know what to do now that the hive / bees / larva are out to make sure they don't come back. Suggestions are appreciated!!
