About a week ago I noticed that Marin had this 'gurgling' (for lack of a better word) sound in her chest. She didn't have any other symptoms, just this weird sound coming from her chest.
About two days ago she took a turn for the worse. She was really wheezing when she breathed and the gurgling seemed worse. Chris and I did the usual "should we call the doctor?" discussion, and in the end decided to make the call. Luckily I was able to get in to see the Doctor that same day (yesterday) and he sent us to the hospital for a chest X-Ray.
I'm not even going to go into how they do the chest X-Ray on an almost 11-month old. Lets just say it involves some contraption which has what looks like a bicycle seat, and a plastic tube to hold her in place with her arms over her head. It's also never good when the nurse warns you in advance: "she's going to scream, and that's a good thing because it gives us a better picture of her lungs." Thankfully the nurses were fantastic, and managed to get the X-Rays done lickety split.
So today we went back to the Doctor and discovered that our little baby has pneumonia and / or a chest infection. Poor little bugger. She's such a trooper, even though she feels like crap she's still smiling and snuggling. We started her on antibiotics this afternoon, and hopefully by tomorrow she'll start feeling better.
