Yesterday we celebrated Quinn's birthday with a party for his friends. His birthday always falls smack-dab in the middle of March Break, so I've taken to bumping it up a few weekends so that his buddies can celebrate with him.
We had the party at the gymnastics centre here in town, because I just don't do parties at home any more. The set-up and clean-up is soooo..... much easier if it's outside of the house. Anyhow, Quinn and his buddies got a chance to tear around the gym bouncing on the trampoline, running down the tumble track and swing from the rope for an hour.
Here are some pictures:
Eagerly waiting to go inside: (note the Batman shirt that Quinn is wearing. For some reason, he really wanted a Batman cake for the party so I thought I'd get him a Batman shirt to go with the cake. Do you know how hard it is to find a bloody Batman shirt? Spiderman, Toy Story, Cars, Mario Bros. - no problem! Batman apparently is not the superhero de jour because I ended up getting him a Batman pajama set because that's all I could find.....)
Listening to instructions (sort of!). Notice how Shannon's right in there. She didn't care that she was the only girl, or that she was 2 1/2 years younger than everyone. She was running, jumping and bouncing right alongside the boys. (I know Mom, she reminds you of me doesn't she!!) ;-)
I didn't realize I had the camera on the wrong setting when I took this picture of the little Miss, but it came out pretty cool!
Master photographer I'm not since I cut off Quinn's head in the picture, but I love his expression:
The Batman cupcake cake which I did NOT make. That being said, I don't think I'll ever go back to a regular cake again. The cupcake cake was soooo.... easy! Just blow out the candle and then distribute, no knife needed! (Of course, you had to shave about an inch of icing off each cupcake....)
My friend Angie had the camera during "Happy Birthday" so I'm actually in a picture for once!
All in all, it was mission accomplished. Quinn was delighted with his party, and the kids crashed hard last night!
