Our Baby is One....

As I write this, I think about where we were last year.  I think about how stressed out I was over the prospect of having a fourth child.  I think about how I felt like a complete basket case because I wasn't sure if I was going to able to handle things.

Then Marin was born, and it was as though everything fell into place.  She just 'fit' in our family, and we knew right away that even though she wasn't 'planned' she belonged in our family.  She is truly and angel.  So sweet and patient, easy-going and easy to please.  She just goes with the flow, and loves to catch your eye.  She's quick to smile and laugh, and can snuggle with the best of them.  She adores her big sister and brothers, and they adore her.

I can't believe how quickly this past year has gone by.  From delivering you a year ago today, to watching you crawl, pull-up and stand on your own for the first time.  They say that time flies, and in some senses I wish it would slow down so we can truly treasure every second we have with Marin.

She's one today, and it was as though the Earth decided to celebrate as well.  It was 19 C and sunny, and Marin had her first taste of crawling outside. (She also had her first taste of a rock, a woodchip, and some dirt.... but oh well!).  She LOVED her cake, and actually licked the plate after she polished off the cake.
