Firstly, they upgraded our room to a suite. Why? I don't know why - but I sure as he!! wasn't about to question them! So we ended up with a beautiful suite with a MASSIVE shower with dual shower heads, two queen beds and a separate living space with a pull-out couch. It was quite the treat!
We hit the water park right away, and off the kids went. I do believe they're becoming pro's at this water park thing....
Marin loved bouncing up and down in the swingy thing:
Shannon thought the teeter-totter was hysterical:
The boys thought it was pretty fun too: (notice Chris picking Shannon up in the background. As they were watching the boys the massive bucket dumped water and it nailed Shannon. She was none too impressed!)
Warming up on the little slides before they moved on to the big Daddy slides.
Once we were waterlogged, we grabbed a late dinner. Chris took the girls up to the room and I took the boys to the arcade. As we left the arcade we noticed that Bronner's (the gi-NOR-mous Christmas store next door) had all their Christmas displays and lights on. Out we went and hiked through the displays. It was hysterical! Aidan kept saying: "Mummy, if I didn't see it I wouldn't believe it!!" Since my kids are Christmas light fanatics this was like Christmas morning all over for them!
The next day we went back to Bronner's so we could go inside. I have never, EV-UH in my life seen so much Christmas stuff! Perhaps the funniest part of the whole expedition was that we let the kids pick one thing to buy (under $10). Quinn quickly picked a sparkly light-up Santa that you can put in the window. Shannon grabbed a stuffed Elmo doll. Aidan was more discerning and was determined to find just the right thing. After much deliberation he chose a strand of white Christmas lights..... that was 37 feet long! The key factor for him was the length of the light strand. I tried to convince him to buy something a little more 'unique' but there was changing his mind. Once he found them, he walked around the store clutching his lights!
This has to be quite possibly the largest Santa around:
As we were touring around, we noticed that all the garbage cans had the word for 'litter' in various languages. Lo and behold - they even had Maltese!! Mom and Dad, this one's for you:
After we left the crazy Christmas store (Chris wasn't sure if he was going to make it) we grabbed lunch and hit the water park YET AGAIN. Then we finally left and went to Birch Run for some serious outlet shopping. Chris took the kids to a park, and I power shopped. I'd like to say it was for me, but really all I got were clothes for the girls.
Finally we grabbed some dinner, and then we packed our weary crew into the van and headed home. All in all, it was a fantastic get-away.
