- me running around like crazy trying to prepare for the party,
- 10 crazed and hyper kids running amok through the house,
- me having to organize party games and corral said crazy munchkins,
- then feed them,
- and THEN clean up the disaster that is left after the party.
Soooo.... off we went to the local Laser tag place. It. Was. AWESOME! The kids had a blast tearing around like crazy people trying to shoot each other (it's one of the few places where it's actually OK to run around screaming while trying to 'shoot' your buddies), and when they weren't playing laser tag they were playing indoor soccer, and stuffing their faces with chips, fruit and the all important cupcake cake.
As always, pictures describe it best:
Aidan geared up and ready to go: (he was giving me his 'fierce' pose)
Chris provided the party entertainment by picking off the kids in laser tag, and then taking them all on in soccer: (the man takes his laser tag pretty seriously!)
A brief break from the mayhem:
The Ben-10 cupcake cake - which I did NOT make. Can I just rave (yet again) about how much I love cupcake cakes? No knives required, no waiting while mom cuts the cake, just blow out the candles and serve)
Yeah - I think it's safe to say that the battery-powered Nerf blaster was a hit!
All in all a very successful celebration for our eight year old. What made it even more special for Aidan was the fact that his "Toronto" cousins (Liam, Devan and Keiran) all made the trip down to celebrate with him). The boy LOVES spending time with his best buds and cousins.
