I know I'm TOTALLY skipping over that whole Thanksgiving thing.... but let's focus here.
In our house, it's all about SPORTS!!!
First let's talk about our Quinn. Quinn has wanted to play goalie in hockey for....well it seems like forever. This week, his dream came true:
As you can see by the smile on his face, he was DELIGHTED to be goalie. Yep, Quinn our 7 1/2 year old 47.75 inch boy, who weighs a whopping 44 lbs managed to actually stand upright in the massive goalie equipment. His head looks tiny in comparison to the rest of his body!!
Now, we don't really WANT Quinn to play goalie. Goalie's get blamed for losses, and it's an incredibly difficult and expensive position to play. Going out on the ice I secretly hoped that he would hate it.
Miraculously, he was able to skate quite well in his hockey gear. Then he went in net. And the pucks went in. Over...and over again. I thought he was going to LOOSE it.
Quinn is the type of kid who if he can't do something well the first time he gets REALLY frustrated.
But no, he stuck with it, and the little bugger just got better and better in net.
He came off the ice exhausted, with a beet-red face, and a HUGE smile on his face. Ever since Monday's practise we've had to suit him up and take shots on him in the basement.
Heaven help us if he decide he actually likes being a goalie!

And now onto Aidan. This year Aidan was finally old enough to join the running club (aka. Cross Country Team) at his school. They had their first meet today and it was bloody cold, and wet, and muddy, and cold.
But the under 9 boys all lined up (there were over 90 of them) and got ready to start: (that's Aidan in the red shirt with the humongo red collar and black shorts in the middle)
Within 200 meters of the start Aidan wiped out because of all the mud and kids around him. He hopped back up and continued on. We couldn't see much of the race because it was in the woods. When we finally could see the kids it was as they came around the bend towards the finish line.
Here comes Aidan starting his sprint: (love the look on the boy in blue's face!)
And here he is finishing in a solid 7th place. Not bad for his first race!
