Now because nothing is totally straightforward in our lives, the night of the boys birthday party, also happened to be the night that Shannon was singing the national anthem at the game with her Sparks troop. Which also meant that she got to go on the ice before the game started and skate. Seeing as how we couldn't handle 12 little boys plus two little girls on the ice, we called in reinforcements. AKA. Auntie Kare.
Yep, Auntie Kare stepped up to the plate and took the girls on the ice (I think Marin talked the ENTIRE time she was out skating!), and then sat with them during the Sting game. We are eternally grateful to have such an awesome Aunt for our girls!
Now I'm not sure, but I think the girls were pretty pumped to be with Auntie Kare! |

The Sting were so awesome to us. When they found out that it was 2 boys celebrating birthdays, they told us that they could ride the Zamboni between periods. Quinn rode during the first intermission, and Aidan during the second. How cool is that?!?!
All in all it was a great end to an exhausting day. The boys had a fabulous time, and yet another year goes by where we have survived the boys birthday parties!!
