The Wheels go round and round

So I took a brief hiatus from blogging - not for any particular reason other than I was feeling a bit uninspired. But, now I'm back at it!

This weekend we went to the Wheels Inn which is a hotel with a pool and water slides, rides, putt-putt, bowling, an arcade, etc. Basically, it is a mecca for anyone under 4 feet tall. Our friend Laurie organized the trip, and there were 15 families who went. The kids had a great time playing with their buddies and riding the rides. Quinn was pretty funny in that he really didn't like any of the rides, except the roller coaster. Yep, our little dare-devil couldn't get enough of the coaster - he kept waving his arms and saying: "Again, again, again!!". Aidan loved the roller coaster because he could yell his head off. I told him it was the only time he was allowed to yell when inside, so he took full advantage of it!

In the evening we put the kids to bed, and then the grown-ups hung out on the balcony having some drinks and chatted. It was a blast! Here are some pictures from the weekend:

This week we're off to Mississagua to visit Tush & Dave, and Chris is playing in an all-night ultimate tournament. Those are three words that should not go together in my books: all-night and ultimate!

Other than that we're busy preparing for the onslaught of February birthdays and getting ready for our trip to Hilton Head to visit Omi and Gramps. Unfortunately, Aidan can't quite seem to understand that we're visiting them at the end of February, and he's already started packing for the trip. Ah well, at least he's prepared!!

Our trip to the dentist

It's been a while since we've been to the Dentist, so I made appointments for everyone (well, everyone except Shannon of course!!). Today it was Aidan & Quinn's turn. Aidan was a superstar and sat in the chair like a pro for his cleaning. He set a fantastic example for his younger brother!

Quinn, unfortunately, was less than enthusiastic about going to the Dentist. He flat out refused to sit in the chair OR let the hygienist look at his teeth. Forget about cleaning them - totally out of the question!! After much cajoling (ahem - I mean bribery!) I finally convinced the little bugger to at least let them brush his teeth, and let the Dentist check his teeth out. But he was NOT happy about it!!

I think the pictures tell the story!!

I have the best husband!

In case you didn't know it, I have the best hubby ever.

Yesterday I was feeling really lousy because I caught Quinn's head cold (it's the gift that keeps on giving baby!) At about noon I totally hit a wall and literally couldn't function. I had a fever, a congestion headache (which I can't take anything for because I'm breastfeeding), and my nose may as well have been a faucet.

So I was lying on the couch with Shannon, while the boys were playing. At about 1:00 I said to Quinn: "Quinn, you've got to go upstairs, go potty and get into bed". (Because I physically could not take him to do it). So Aidan says: "Mummy, I'll take him". Aidan took him upstairs, put him on the toilet, and then put him in bed (he couldn't get his underwear and pants back on so Quinn went to bed with a bare bum!). Aidan then 'read' Quinn a story and tucked him in - how sweet is that!!

Meanwhile, I had now moved upstairs to my bed and was pretty much passed out while Aidan watched some TV. At about 2:00 or so, I had a fever of 101.5, and knew I couldn't take any more, so I called Chris. He came home, took all three kids to Tim Horton's so I could sleep, made dinner, did the laundry and then took the kids out again. How awesome is he?!?!

How I spent my winter vacation....

It's back to school day - HOORAY!!!! Is it terribly wrong of me to be happy that the boys are back in school / daycare? It was great to spend time with them over the holidays, but at the same time - I missed the routine of school and downtime that I normally have. Thankfully, both of them were happy to go back and see all their buddies!

We spent the remainder of the holidays hanging around and having fun. On Saturday we hit the hills before all of this snow melted. We went sledding and the boys just had A BLAST!!! They love sledding so much, and because all of their friends were at the hill too they had even more fun!! Here are some pics:

Miss Shannon is such a real superstar. She's so smiley and chatty AND, last night she slept from (make sure you're sitting down for this one!!): 9:30p.m. to 7:15 a.m. STRAIGHT THROUGH!!!! I guess the third time is truly a charm when it comes to kids!!!

Snow? We don't need no stinkin' snow!!

I've lost track of how much snow has fallen in the past two days - it has to be at least a foot and a half. Not fun to drive in, but it sure is fun to play in! I'd like to give a shout out to all our friends who live in Alberta - you've got nothing on us this winter!!

Here are some shots:

Hello 2008!

Happy New Year everyone!

We rang in the New Year early by hosting a family New Year's party. I lost track of the number of adults and kids once we hit 30! But, it was a great time spent with good friends and good food.

We woke up on New Year's morning to piles of snow (at least 6 inches) so we spent most of the day outside shoveling and building snowmen and snow forts. I waaaayyyy.... prefer snow to no snow, because at least with the snow you can do things outside. This morning the snow is still falling so I'm hoping we'll be able to take the boys sledding later in the day.

I've finally organized some of our Christmas pictures so here are a few for your viewing pleasure:
