So long, farewell.....

Aidan is 6 and a half. He has been DYING to loose his first tooth. Many of his friends and cousins have lost teeth, yet for some reason his teeth didn't want to go anywhere. About a month or so ago we noticed that his permanent bottom tooth broke through, but his baby tooth wasn't budging. Two weeks ago his other bottom permanent tooth came through and still no action on the baby tooth front.

So today we headed off to the dentist for some teeth pulling. The scary thing is, when I was Aidan's age I had those same teeth pulled. Sometimes genetics is a bitch! Aidan was a real trooper (although he was less than enthused about the freezing shot - to put it mildly) and in no time flat the dentist had the two teeth out.

Check out the root on this sucker! The dentist couldn't believe how long it was. He said there was no way the tooth would have come out on it's own.


Tonight the tooth fairy visits for the first time. Hopefully future visits won't entail trips to the dentist!
