Skiing & Splashing Away

We got a jump-start on our Spring Break by packing everyone up and heading to Harbor Springs to visit Chris' sister Heidi.  We always have a great time visiting with Heidi and Robert & Robert, and despite ominous weather forecasts which called for rain EVERY DAY, we knew we would have fun.

Well, the weather gods cooperated and the rain held off.  The boys were really excited to go skiing for the first time, so Chris packed them up on Friday and off they went with Heidi and little Robert.

Auntie Heidi took Quinn under her wing (literally!!)....

...and very patiently taught him how to ski!

Aidan picked up on this whole skiing thing pretty fast (as Chris says: "he's already a better skier than I'll ever be!"

After the skiing, everyone came home and we all headed out to do some tubing.  The snow wasn't great, but we still got two runs in.  Shannon LOVED it and giggled the whole way down!

Miss Marin was a superstar the whole trip.  I can't believe how patient that girl is!

After a day outside, we took it indoors and hit Avalanche Bay - a waterpark about 40 mins away.  The kids didn't stop sliding, swimming, jumping, or splashing for four hours!!

Little turkey - I love the scrunched up nose!

Quinn, Shannon and I had a blast on the lazy river.  They kept squealing with glee every time we got splashed.

Chris got into the spirit of things.  (notice the beginning of 'ripped'-ness courtesy of our P90X program?!?!)

We had another fabulous vacation in Harbor!  Since we were there for 2.5 days (our longest trip ever) it was great to see how much Aidan and Robert bonded.  The two were pretty much inseparable the entire time.  They are peas in a pod in that they both love building and construction.  By the time we left on Sunday they had build a 'bridge' in the backyard with logs from fallen trees!  And Quinn took quite a shining to Auntie Heidi.  He stuck with her while she taught him to ski, then he was quite content to ride on her lap while tubing, and I can't count the number of times he's talked about : "Auntie Heidi" since we've been back!

After we left Harbor, we headed off to Frankenmuth for more fun.  More on that to come......
