Weekend of festivities

This weekend we headed up to Toronto to celebrate my nephew Keiran's eighth (yes I said 8th!) birthday.  Ever since we told the kids we've been going all I've heard is: "are we going to Keiran's today Mummy?"  "Mummy, is today the day we go to Keiran's house?"  "Is it Keiran's birthday yet Mummy?"  GAH!!!!!! (this my friends, is precisely why I don't tell my kids things in advance.  I'm more of a "leave it to the last minute" type of girl)

Anyhow, we arrive at my brother's house on Friday  night, and those darn kids were just so happy to see each other that they took off and played, and played.... and played some more.  Next thing we knew it was 10:00 and the kids weren't in bed.  But seriously, the kids were playing so nicely together it would have been a crime to tear them apart.  Finally at 11:00 the kids were asleep in their beds.

The next day was more of the same.  Kids playing, grown-ups carousing, and Chris and I chasing Marin.  Yep.  Marin is officially at that age where we have to constantly, constantly, CONSTANTLY follow her around.  She's just so delighted to be toddling around that she has a whole new world to discover - which means that she is EVERYWHERE!

Then we had Keiran's party which was a blast.  Picture lots of 7, 8 & 9 year olds at an indoor GLOW IN THE DARK putt putt course.  AND, there was an arcade at the end!  (OK, I've clearly surpassed my caps quota for this blog).  Yes, it was a bit of mayhem but the kids had a blast.

After that party, it was back to my brother's place to celebrate my Mom's birthday (Happy Birthday Mom).  Of course this meant more food and more cake!!! Ooooohhhhhhh - my poor pants couldn't take much more!

Anyhow, we headed home today to head to another birthday party for one of Quinn's buddy's.  By the time we got home we were partied out!

Here are some pics from the weekend:

My mom with the girls...

The boy cousins (before the token silly shot!):

Here's Shannon's silly shot.  The little stinker was using her glow in the dark bracelet as 'lip-gloss'.  She is SUCH a girl!

Uncle Dave with Marin & Sharra:

Quinn at his buddies cooking class themed birthday party - he loved it! (especially the fact that he got a cupcake AND a piece of birthday cake was especially awesome for him)
