Well, the lazy days of summer are officially here, and boy are we taking full advantage of them! Between going to the pool, beach, soccer fields, and just plain hanging out - I'm finding it increasingly difficult to motivate myself to sit in front of the computer and blog.
The kids are at such a fun age where we can go almost any where and have fun. Of course I'm also discovering that we have to almost force ourselves to sllllloooooowwwww down and just enjoy each other rather than hanging out with friends, going to sleepovers and play dates all... the... time. In fact, a couple of days ago I put my foot down and we had a family night where we hung out at home, went to the pool for a swim and then cuddled in bed while we watched a show. It was perfect.
Because words are lacking right now (could be that my morning coffee hasn't kicked in yet!), I'll bombard you with photos of the last week.
Can you feel the love between the brothers?!?!
This picture cracks me up. It was soooooooo HOT at the Canada Parade - Shannon was not impressed!
But she was much happier playing at the McKenney beach afterwards!!
Look at this face:
Can you tell that Marin is a big ham?!
Aidan and his buddy Aidan out for a cruise at dusk:
The next day we went to Ipperwash to visit my sister who was staying at a cottage there. The girls happily went to work gathering water from the lake:
It was so hot even Chris went in the water!!! Here are Chris and Dave making their way back to shore while firing a frisbee at us.
Saturday night everyone came to our house for dinner and we had a black out for about two hours. What else do you do but snuggle with Nanna while watching a movie on the laptop?
My sister's and my kids at breakfast - turkeys!!!
We chose the hottest day of the year to go to the Detroit zoo. Looks like Aidan is turning into quite the photographer - he took this picture of the gorilla.
Four moms and fourteen hot and sweaty kids!!!
Here's hoping that blogging inspiration strikes soon!!
