My parents were here the day before the actual 'birthday' so she had lots of fun opening her presents from them.

Turns out Marin thought the best part of her gift was this gorgeous purple 'party' dress. Of course she had to twirl:

Unfortunately on the day of her birthday, we had to go to Stratford for one of Aidan's hockey games. But, we're not the type who let's a hockey game stand in our way of celebrating a birthday! We drove to Stratford early, and went to a fabulous toy store and let the birthday girl pick out her present. She decided on a hairstyling kit, complete with straightener, fake scissors, and lots and lots of ribbons.
At the game the other parents all wished her a happy birthday (yep, Aidan's team has the best parents ev-uh!), and complimented her on her fashion choice for the day (which was the afore-photoed purple dress. Of course the birthday girl had to wear her party dress on her actual birthday!!)
After the game we went to Tim Horton's and Marin got a birthday donut, which was accompanied by a god-awful rendition of 'Happy Birthday" sung by us. (Hey, the James family is not know for our singing ability!!)
